PhD course on Public Economics Helsinki, 4-6 June 2020
A PhD-course in Public Economics will take place directly after the meeting of TAPES (Trans-Atlantic Public Economics Seminar), which brings together some of the world’s leading public economics researchers. The course starts in the afternoon Thursday the 4th and ends early afternoon Saturday the 6th.
The course will start with two keynote lectures by Jonathan Gruber and Hillary Hoynes. Thereafter follows lectures on different topics in public economics including optimal taxation, empirical tax analysis and behavioural public economics. In addition, students are invited to give flash talks, presenting ongoing work. Conditional on presenting and supervisor’s approval, the course will give credits.
The organizers have limited funds to cover the travel costs from students residing outside of Helsinki and in other Nordic countries.
The deadline for registration is 15 April. Please register by email to Jukka Pirttilä (email@example.com). When registering, please inform if you need travel support. In case you want to present a project during the workshop, please also submit a paper or an extended abstract by the same date.
